Official IBJJF Rules
Complete system following International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation standards
Scoring System
The scoreboard faithfully follows IBJJF rules: 2 points are awarded for takedowns, sweeps, and knee-on-belly; 3 points for guard passes; and 4 points for mount and back control. Each score must be held for 3 seconds to be valid.
Advantages
Advantages are awarded when a competitor nearly completes a scoring technique but fails to stabilize the position for the required 3 seconds. Advantages are used as a tiebreaker when the main score is tied.
Penalties and Disqualification
The system records 4 levels of penalties according to IBJJF rules. Upon receiving 3 penalties, the athlete is automatically disqualified and the match ends with victory for the opponent. Penalties also affect the result in case of a tie.
Victory Criteria
Victory is determined in the following order: Submission > Disqualification (3 penalties) > Highest score > Most advantages > Fewest penalties > Referee's decision. The system automatically applies all these criteria.
